先般の記述の如く、10月12日及び13日に小樽の地にて、LIVEならびにDJの任を果たすべく赴いた次第である。現地到着は3日前を以てしたものの、諸般の準備に忙殺され、観光と呼ぶに値する行動は寥々たるものであった。しかしながら、口腹の欲を満たすべく、珠玉の美食に舌鼓を打つ機会には恵まれた。パフォーマンスに関しては、大過なく遂行し得たと自負している。殊に印象深かったのは、旧日本郵船社屋にプロジェクションマッピングを投影していたことである。歴史的建造物の荘厳な佇まいと、最新技術が織りなす光の饗宴は、古今の美が融合した圧巻の光景であった。その幻想的な空間で音を奏でることができたのは、音楽家冥利に尽きる経験であった。特筆すべきは、外国人のお姉さんが爆裂に踊ってくれたことも、強く記憶に刻まれた点である。言葉の壁を超えて、音楽が人々の心と体を自由に解き放つ様は、音楽の持つ普遍的な力を如実に示すものであった。彼女の情熱的な舞踊は、己の音楽が国境を越えて響き渡ることの喜びを、身を以て感じさせてくれた。この光景は、音楽の魔力と、それを通じた文化交流の可能性を改めて実感させる貴重な瞬間となった。北海道のテクノミュージックシーンの水準の高さには、驚嘆の念を禁じ得なかった。地方の音楽文化の隆盛を目の当たりにし、己の研鑽の不足を痛感した次第である。札幌を中心に展開される北海道のテクノシーンは、その独自性と質の高さで注目を集めている。地元DJや若手プロデューサーたちが精力的に活動を展開し、彼らの斬新なサウンドと実験精神に富んだアプローチは、独特の魅力を放っている。この北の大地で脈々と受け継がれ、進化を続けるテクノミュージック。その創造性と情熱に触れ、己の音楽観を見つめ直す契機となった。北海道テクノシーンの今後の展開に、より一層の期待を寄せずにはいられない。二十年近くの交誼を重ねてきたYoo Nakamura氏には、今回も多大なる恩恵を蒙った。氏の厚誼に対しては、感謝の言葉もない。長年の友情が、時を経てなお深まりゆくことの喜びを噛みしめつつ、音楽を通じた絆の尊さを再認識した。また、過去のイベントでご一緒した方々と久々に邂逅する機会にも恵まれた。時を経て再会を果たした旧知の面々との語らいは、往時を偲ぶ懐旧の情を誘うと同時に、各々の音楽的成長を確認し合う貴重な機会となった。音楽の道を共に歩んできた仲間との再会は、己の音楽人生を振り返る契機ともなり、深い感慨を覚えた次第である。ただし、一言申し添えるならば、次回は1〜2ヶ月前のブッキングを切に希望する次第である。これは決して不平不満を述べるものではなく、単に己の老いゆく身体を慮っての戯言に過ぎない。とはいえ、この突発的な遠征が、予期せぬ興奮と刺激をもたらしたことも事実である。実に、1週間足らずの準備期間で、LIVE1時間分を2セット、DJ1時間分を2セット、計4時間もの演目を容易したことは、己にとっても驚愕の事実である。この短期間での集中的な創作と準備は、まさに音楽家としての真価が問われる試練であった。しかしながら、この挑戦が己の潜在能力を引き出し、予想外の創造性を発揮する契機となったことは否めない。Yoo Nakamura氏の計らいには、常に感謝の念を抱いている。氏の突飛なアイデアと行動力が、己の音楽人生に彩りを添えてくれることは疑いようもない。ただ、次回は1〜2ヶ月前には予定を立てていただけると、老骨に鞭打つ準備の時間も確保でき、さらには腰を据えて作曲に励む余裕も生まれるかと思う次第である。これは冗談半分の願いであるが、氏の寛容な心で受け止めていただければ幸いである。明日、10月15日を以て帰路に就く。この小樽での経験は、音楽家としての己の糧となることは疑いようもない。東京に戻った後は、この経験を昇華し、更なる創作活動に邁進する所存である。

As mentioned in my previous post, I traveled to Otaru on October 12th and 13th to perform live and DJ. Although I arrived three days early, I was so busy with preparations that I hardly had time for sightseeing. However, I did have the opportunity to indulge in some exquisite local cuisine.I’m confident that my performance went off without a hitch. What particularly impressed me was the projection mapping on the old Nippon Yusen building. The majestic historical structure, combined with cutting-edge technology, created a breathtaking spectacle that blended the old and the new. Being able to create music in such a fantastical space was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a musician.Another memorable moment was when a foreign woman danced with incredible enthusiasm. Seeing music transcend language barriers and move people so profoundly was a powerful reminder of music’s universal appeal. Her passionate dancing made me realize the joy of my music resonating across national boundaries. This scene was a precious moment that made me acutely aware of music’s magic and its potential for cultural exchange.I was astounded by the high caliber of Hokkaido’s techno music scene. Witnessing the flourishing of local music culture made me keenly aware of my own need for further growth. The techno scene centered in Sapporo is gaining attention for its uniqueness and quality. Local DJs and young producers are actively developing innovative sounds and experimental approaches, creating a distinctive charm. This techno music, which continues to evolve in the northern land, has given me an opportunity to reconsider my own musical perspective. I can’t help but have high expectations for the future development of Hokkaido’s techno scene.I owe a great debt of gratitude to Yoo Nakamura, with whom I’ve shared a friendship for nearly twenty years. Words cannot express my appreciation for his kindness. I was deeply moved by how our long-standing friendship has deepened over time, reaffirming the value of bonds formed through music. I also had the chance to reunite with people I had worked with at past events. Conversing with these old acquaintances after so long evoked nostalgia for the past while also allowing us to confirm each other’s musical growth. Reuniting with fellow travelers on the musical journey provided an opportunity for reflection on my own musical life, filling me with deep emotion.However, if I may add one request, I sincerely hope for bookings to be made 1-2 months in advance next time. This is not a complaint, merely a jest considering my aging body. Nevertheless, it’s true that this sudden expedition brought unexpected excitement and stimulation. Indeed, it’s astonishing even to myself that I managed to prepare two one-hour live sets and two one-hour DJ sets, totaling four hours of performance, in less than a week. This intensive creation and preparation in such a short time was truly a test of my worth as a musician. However, I can’t deny that this challenge drew out my latent abilities and became an opportunity to demonstrate unexpected creativity.I’m always grateful for Yoo Nakamura’s arrangements. There’s no doubt that his wild ideas and drive add color to my musical life. However, if he could set the schedule 1-2 months in advance next time, it would allow this old body to prepare and give me time to focus on composition. This is half in jest, but I hope he’ll accept it with his usual understanding.Tomorrow, October 15th, I’ll be heading back. This experience in Otaru will undoubtedly serve as nourishment for me as a musician. After returning to Tokyo, I intend to sublimate this experience and devote myself to further creative activities.
